Riser Rings
By RMWoodco
Great for Plates Platters & Bowls With sharp edged rims.
The Longworth Chuck is a
wonderful device. Our customers love its ease of use, speed
of setup and its gentle non-marking grip on their beautiful
vessels. They asked for a way to also use their Longworth
Chuck when working with knife edged plates or bowls that
flared out to a sharp edge. The steel washers at the base of
the soft silicone buttons sometimes interfered with the
sharp edge on the vessel.

Riser Rings™ provide a
perfect solution to a multitude of situations and are
extremely simple to use.
Use Riser Rings™ when turning
a thin plate or platter
Use Riser Rings™ when turning
a bell shaped vessel with a sharp upper rim
Use Riser Rings™ when turning
a thin segmented ring. You can even stack two rings for more
rise.
Use Riser Rings™ when you
want to raise the vessel above the Longworth Chuck disk for
any reason.
Use Riser Rings™ when your
vessel is so uneven that it needs extra support.
Riser Rings™ slip easily over
the buttons of your Longworth Chuck and remove just as
easily without having to unscrew any nuts or bolts.
Riser Rings™ are made from
the highest quality HDPE, high density polyethylene. They
also won’t mar your valuable vessel. HDPE is very slippery
and non-sticking by nature so finishes won’t stick to the
Riser Rings™ and washes off easily. HDPE is not affected by
most solvents and so may be cleaned as needed should you get
finish on them.
Riser Rings™ are available in
sets of 8 rings, Part # RR8, for $14.95 plus $2.00 shipping
(USA and Canada Only),
or sets of 16, Part # RR16, for $27.95 plus $2.00 shipping
(USA and Canada Only -
International Orders $5.00 Flat Rate Shipping).
Order the 16 ring set if you plan to stack two rings for
extra height or if you turn segmented rings. If you own a
20” or a 24” Longworth Chuck, you may consider ordering two
16 piece sets.
